A warm welcome to Year 2's class page.

On behalf of all the staff in Year 2, welcome to our class page. This is where you will find all the information you need to know about what we will be doing this term.

In Year 2, we always try to make our learning enjoyable and engaging so that it's memorable. We also work hard in lessons to reach clearly defined objectives and produce work of increasingly high quality.

We recognise that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. A strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child's education.

If you ever have any questions or would like a chat about subjects or progress, please do not hesitate to ask.

RE - Come and See

God's world.jpg

Family - Beginnings:  In this unit, the children will share their experience and feelings about new beginnings and talk about things they wonder about; the excitement and surprise that a new start can bring. They will explore the beauty around them and God creating the world; they will listen to and explore the story of Creation.

Baptism - Belonging - Signs and Symbols: The children will begin the unit by talking about their experience and feelings about signs which help them in daily life and the symbols which are important to them. They will then explore religious words and phrases to describe some actions and symbols used in the Sacrament of Baptism.

Advent - Loving - Preparing:  Through this unit the children will talk about their own experience and feelings of preparing for special occasions and share what they wonder about the amount of time and care involved in preparing for Christmas. They will hear the stories of the Annunciation, the Visitation and the Nativity and become familiar with the characters in those events. They will learn how Christians follow Jesus as the Light of the World and live that out in their lives.
