Art and D&T

This Term: Autumn 1

Our creativity will flourish in Art as we delve into abstract art inspired by Wassily Kandinsky, focusing on concentric circles. Exploring abstract creativity with pastels and charcoals.

The children will develop their knowledge of Kandinsky and begin to appreciate his famous artwork. Pupils will develop their ability to look for what they like in a drawing as well as giving constructive feedback and further their ability to evaluate and improve their work. We will be able to identify styles across pieces of artwork and be able to use the style of Kandinsky in their own work. Also we will be focusing on being able to incorporate a range of mediums into their artwork. Children will be able to plan the use of charcoal and pastels into their artwork allowing the children to be able to adapt Kandinsky’s artwork into their own style using a range of mediums. Children will be able to adapt colours and light and dark to create their final piece.
