Year 6 Class Blog

This was our first week in Year 6 and we've been getting down to a lot of hard work!  First was maths, and we were recognising numbers up to ten million and rounding them.  Also, we've been writing narrative poems in English, which were fun! As well as that, we've been doing lots of other things like self portraits and going on the new Apple  computers.

Keep watching and we'll let you know what we get up to next week!

This term we will continue to read ‘Journey to Jo’Burg’ by Beverley Naidoo, we will use the text as a stimulus for writing diaries, and to help us understand more about life in South Africa under the political system of apartheid.  This will also help us with writing a biography of Nelson Mandela.  The second novel for the term will be ‘Hero’ by Sarah Lean, a tale about morals and friendship.
